【摘要】:Mixedoxide,amixtureofuraniumandplutoniumoxides,isusedasanuclear-reactorfuelintheformofpellets.Theplutoniumcontentmaybeupto10weight%,andthediluenturaniummaybeofany235Uenrichment.Inordertobesuitableforuseasanuclearfuel,thematerialmustmeetcertaincriteriaforcombineduraniumandplutoniumcontent,effectivefissilecontent,andimpuritycontentasdescribedinSpecificationC833.Thematerialisassayedforuraniumandplutoniumtodeterminewhethertheplutoniumcontentisasspecifiedbythepurchaser,andwhetherthematerialcontainstheminimumcombineduraniumandplutoniumcontentsspecifiedonadryweightbasis.Determinationoftheisotopiccontentoftheplutoniumanduraniuminthemixedoxideismadetoestablishwhethertheeffectivefissilecontentisincompliancewiththepurchaser''sspecifications.Impuritycontentisdeterminedtoensurethatthemaximumconcentrationlimitofcertainimpurityelementsisnotexceeded.Determinationofimpuritiesisalsorequiredforcalculationoftheequivalentboroncontent(EBC).1.1Thesetestmethodscoverproceduresforthechemical,massspectrometric,andspectrochemicalanalysisofnuclear-grademixedoxides,(U,Pu)O2,powdersandpelletstodeterminecompliancewithspecifications.1.2Theanalyticalproceduresappearinthefollowingorder:
